Can't sync new files. Someone knows how to fix it?Solved68Views0likes4CommentsDropbox Backup migration to new computer using the same external drive
Hello, To avoid losing my data, I back it up to the cloud using Dropbox. I’m considering buying an M1 Mac mini to use as a server, so I can access my data from my MacBook Air and automate my backups. My question is: will I have to redo all my backups, or will simply connecting my SSD to the Mac mini allow Dropbox to continue syncing without having to re-upload all 3TB of data? Thank you for your help. Best regards,Solved121Views0likes12CommentsBacked up external drive with 795 GB of files shows 620 GB when fully backed up
Dropbox backup seems unable to properly read file system of external ExFAT drive. Drive has 795 GB in use—but for first few days of backup, Dropbox believed drive had 50 GB of data, then 70, then 100, then 120 GB... It claims to be done, but then you navigate online backup and find many folders are empty, so you return to plugging it in... After letting it go on and off for days (constantly exercising drive/making it hot), Dropbox Backup now claims external drive is fully backed up... at 620 GB. Is it? Or is this another bad report? There are now enough files transferred that I don't see obvious empty folders to confirm that Backup is incomplete... but there is still a file size discrepancy of 175 GB. Am I done with backup? Is there more that is missing? How do customers figure this out?92Views0likes9CommentsI keep getting an error that files are corrupted when trying to open them in my Dropbox folder
Hello, I'm experiencing a recurring issue when working with project files stored on Dropbox. Every time I try to open a project in Premiere Pro or other editing software, I get an error saying that the file is corrupted or unreadable. This has been happening frequently and is seriously impacting my workflow. The files are saved correctly and appear to sync without problems, but once I try to open them, they seem damaged. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a known fix or best practice to avoid this kind of corruption when working with Dropbox and video editing software? Thanks in advance for your help. I can't save an edited PDF with the Windows file explorer open. I thought it was because another user had the file open, but then I discovered that I can save the file if I close the file explorer first, which doesn't make sense. I get an Adobe Acrobat message stating, "The document could not be saved. The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder." I removed all other devices from the Dropbox account and that did the trick for a little while, but now I'm getting this message again any time I edit a PDF and try to save it where it is. I close the window, hit save, and locate the file again. How can I fix this so I don't have to close the file explorer every time I edit a document in Dropbox on desktop?29Views0likes2CommentsInstalled Dropbox on a new Mac and got "selective sync conflicts" on this and other linked computers
How do I fix the "Selective Sync Conflict" issue, which is now present on three computers: new Mac mini, 2021 MacBook Pro and 2017 iMac? Two days ago, I installed dropbox on new Mac mini, with the intention of synching ALL files/folders on to mini hard drive. Yesterday, I noticed some files had downloaded green circle with white check and most files had empty cloud icon. Many files/folders displayed "Selective Sync Conflict" in the file/folder name, which I have never seen before. I have a huge dropbox account, nearly 4 Gb, with many subfolders. Any advice to separately click (download) file by file would be daunting. I tried to resolve this with chatGPT and Grok. BIGGER MESS. Mac mini. Last night, I erased the Mac mini and re-installed Mac OS from scratch. This am, I reinstalled dropbox. Now, on Mac mini, all dropbox folders (still in the process of synching) are empty cloud (some with down arrow, some with no arrow). None of the files/folders have green circles with white checks), and 90% of folders have "Selective Sync Conflict" label. From the dropbox icon on top menu bar, I had selected Default sync state for new files => Available offline. 2. When I log into the online dropbox account, I similarly see "Selective Sync Conflict" labels on most files/folders. Now, my MBP dropbox folders/files display either a solid green with white check, or a white circle with green check, or a different gray circle cloud icon. Most files indicate "Selective Sync Conflict" where they never did before. 2017 iMac (which has selected folders) shows all gray cloud icons, which I can activate by double clicking =>.green circle with white check. I read that "Selective Sync Conflict" means there are duplicate folders, but I don't see any duplicated folders. I hope I doo not have to repeat corrections on three devices. Haven't looked at my iPhone dropbox, too scared. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.245Views0likes15CommentsHow can I sync files on Dropbox? The app doesn't do it automatically.
I looked up how to sync here on DropBox, but it looks like they still have the same instructions as it worked years ago. I have a brand new laptop and when I right-click on any of my Windows folders, I do not get "Quick Actions" or "Sync." I get a bunch of others, none of which is sync. I used to be able to sync things in the old DropBox. I don't know what happened to the user interface but it's completely confusing and not helpful. I don't even see the word "sync" anywhere. Please help, as I am saving files on one computer and need to open them on another.91Views2likes4CommentsMy desktop app keeps asking me to log in and it's not syncing my files.

I recently changed the location of my Dropbox folder and now I no longer have my right-click menu. Dropbox is running and everything has been synced. I've restarted and reinstalled dropbox and it did not fix my issue. Latest version of Dropbox: 221.4.5365 MacOS: 15.4149Views0likes14Comments
