Can't sync new files. Someone knows how to fix it?Solved69Views0likes4CommentsI can't save an Adobe PDF file with Windows File Explorer open
I can't save an edited PDF with the Windows file explorer open. I thought it was because another user had the file open, but then I discovered that I can save the file if I close the file explorer first, which doesn't make sense. I get an Adobe Acrobat message stating, "The document could not be saved. The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder." I removed all other devices from the Dropbox account and that did the trick for a little while, but now I'm getting this message again any time I edit a PDF and try to save it where it is. I close the window, hit save, and locate the file again. How can I fix this so I don't have to close the file explorer every time I edit a document in Dropbox on desktop?29Views0likes2CommentsHow do I resolve selective sync conflicts on Dropbox desktop for multiple devices?
Hi Dropbox Community, I’m using Dropbox Plus on Windows 11 and macOS (latest desktop app) to sync files across two devices, but I’m facing selective sync conflicts. Some folders I’ve deselected for syncing still appear or cause errors (e.g., “sync in progress” hangs). I’ve checked settings in the Dropbox app, ensured both devices use the same selective sync settings, and restarted the app, but issues persist. Setup: Dropbox Plus, 2TB plan, ~500GB used, 100+ folders. Steps Tried: Reconfigured selective sync in Preferences > Sync. Cleared cache via Advanced Settings. Reinstalled the desktop app. Any tips for resolving selective sync conflicts? Are there best practices for managing sync settings across devices? Thanks for your advice!55Views0likes3CommentsI don't understand the new Dropbox for Windows sync icons
My installation of Dropbox for Windows has just updated and I now see a sync status icon I've never seen before against most of my files, which looks like this. The sync icon I've always seen before looks like this. Some of my files have one of the above icons against them and some have the other, and I don't understand the difference. The Dropbox help page doesn't explain it in terms I can understand. For the former icon it says it means "that a file was opened (directly or with a third-party application) and synced", whereas for the lattter it says it "means your file is synced and available offline". But all my Dropbox files have been opened at some stage and all of them have been synced, so I don't understand why some of my files have one of the above icons against them while others have the other, or what the difference between them is. Any ideas? Dave215Views3likes17CommentsHaving issue opening my C4D files on a shared server.
Hi there I suddenly have an issue where I can't open any C4D (Cinema 4d) files from a shared server. I can open the files fine on the server machine itself and all other file types open fine from the server (Photoshop files, InDesign files etc) Is anyone else experiencing this issue? It literally happened overnight after many years of working seamlessly. I am using Windows 11 on all machines Many thanks, Tom128Views0likes8CommentsMy files/folders started re-syncing on their own and I can't make them available offline.
For reasons unknown, Dropbox opted to re-sync all files and folders. After waiting hours for this syncing process to complete, countless files and folders still show in Windows Explorer that the folder is awaiting syncing (the two circular arrow lines). All of these folders/files need to be available offline but I see now way to initiate a sync for these folders/files. What am I missing?189Views0likes5CommentsDon't see 'Sync now' option to prioritise which files sync first
URGENT help please! Don't see 'sync now' option to prioritise which files sync first. (There's another conversation with the same title, but dicussions have been close, so can't commet there, had to open a new conversation). I have Dropbox Plus. Apparently, Microsoft has made a major change these days and now all my Dropbox files need to sync again. There thousands... I NEED to priorise which sync first in order to work with my teammates so they can receive the new files. See screenshots below: 1st, from my hardrive, you see there's a 250709 file, the last one, which is not uploading: 2nd, from my dropbox account, can't see that file. I saved it yesterday to my hard drive: 3rd, from my hard drive, right clicked at the folder where the file is, dropbbox options DON´T show the Sync now: 4th, from my hard drive, right clicked at the file above the one I want synced, dropbbox options DO show the Sync now: 5th, from my hard drive, right clicked at the file that is not sycing, dropbbox options DON'T EVEN APPEAR: Will appreaciate your help asap! :)87Views0likes6CommentsI have two duplicate Dropbox folders on my Windows machine
Hi. I have two dropbox folders on my hard drive. When I use the app to access my computer folder, it takes me to Dropbox (Personal). I also, however, have a folder in the same location that's called simply, Dropbox. Both folders have the exact same files (I checked number of files and file size). So both are syncing. The icons are slightly different. Dropbox (Personal) has the normal icon. Dropbox, however, has the icon with a little blue arrow in a white box in the bottom lefthand corner. If I right click Dropbox (Personal) and go to the Dropbox menu options, I see: Make Online Only, Make Available Offline, View on Dropbox.com and Manage Hard Drive Space. If I right click Dropbox and go to the Dropbox menu options, I only see: Transfer a copy. They are both taking up hard drive space so I want to narrow to just one but I'm afraid if I delete one, it will delete all the files from the other. Any suggestions?51Views1like3CommentsDropbox desktop app is stuck at indexing my files on Windows 11
Hi, My user able to log in to both personal and business Dropbox accounts on PC. However, only personal account has successfully completed indexing and syncing. Business account has been stuck in the indexing phase for two weeks, and no files have appeared—only the Dropbox cache folder is visible (need to unhide first). Internet connection and ISP are working fine. The business account has less than 300,000 files, and we use selective sync for 100GB of storage. We've already tried performing an advanced uninstall of Dropbox, delete cache and then reinstalling it. We even tried doing it in different PC. but the problem still persists. Have anyone encountered any similar issues before? Please advise on how to resolve this.80Views0likes6Comments
