I've been a Dropbox user for many years. Within the last few months, whenever Dropbox automatically updates on my Mac currently running macOS 15.5 I've noted that in Finder I will see a message above files in my Dropbox folder of "The application "Dropbox" could not be found." and nothing will sync, even though Dropbox is running. Rebooting my Mac seems to resolve the issue as everything works properly after a reboot and the message is gone in Finder. This seems like a recent bug as Dropbox didn't do this for many years on my Macs. I'm not sure how to prevent the issue from happening the next time an update rolls out, or what to do to "fix" this as an end user other than a reboot. It's not the end of the world, but it's a regression and is a bit annoying.386Views0likes28CommentsDropbox has interrupted my sharing = no idea why? Help appreciated please?
Haven't used Dropbox for ages, needing to send a video to an 80yr old friend (taken on my phone today, to show them how to do an easy balance exercise with "wobble foam" aka balance pad. I am getting the Dropbox message of "we have interrupted your sharing". Dropbox won't let me share it to him or get a link to send to him. I have no idea why, I have 2 GB available storage, no problems I can work out. Can't see/understand any issue or how to fix it. Message says I can ask Dropbox to Review the decision if I consider it's wrong. I am 99.9% sure it's wrong but can't work out how to get any help. Can anyone here please help. I record my podcasts to a external hard drive then upload the raw files to dropbox for my editor to bring into the editing software. My problem is that when i move the raw files to my dropbox app on my mac it says not enough space which forces me to upload the files into the website. that transfer can take 8-10 hours. Any ideas of how to fix this or make it more efficient?73Views0likes6CommentsGetting "Installation failed. The Dropbox installer failed to start." error on my desktop app.
Hi everyone, I have this issue for almost two months now. After some major Dropbox update somewhere at the end of April, if I'm not mistaking, I got continuous sync showing for thousands of files in my desktop app & tried to reinstall it (Windows 11). I get this message each time ever since. I'm not technician at all, tried different methods that I was suggested to do, including, antivirus stop, deep cleanup etc. Tried a stable version, suggested in other thread here in community, but nothing helps - I still get this message each time. Please help me guys, it's very inconvenient, annoying and doesn't help my workflow at all. Hello, I logged in to find a message entitled, "2025-06-13 Content Shared From T Team Pending Deletion" The message contained 2 items, both names of two of my Dropbox files. I checked and I'm only using 631GB of my 2TB plan. Are these two files actually going to be deleted? How can I keep that from happening? Thanks!Solved76Views0likes5CommentsDo I have to reinstall Dropbox every time I do a software update on my Linux Fedora 42?
I'm running Dropbox on Fedora 42 (Linux). Each time I do a software update for the computer, this warning shows when I log in: Do I really have to reinstall Dropbox each time? This is confusing.37Views0likes4Comments"We were unable to complete your request" error when trying to join shared folder.
I can't join a shared folder. The error message "We were unable to complete your request" keeps popping up. The owner of the folder set it to "can edit", which means I can supposedly edit and access the folder, but I still can't join.65Views0likes6CommentsCan't share files. "We’ve interrupted your sharing activity" error.
Hello, I work for a company that provides two-way radio programming software downloads for our end-user customer base. We have multiple links on our Dropbox but only one is giving us an error. The following is what we're receiving after re-uploading the software to Dropbox: Can't Share File Error in call to API function /2/sharing/create_shared_link_with_settings: Sharing is restricted How do we resolve this issue? We need this fixed ASAP as it is effecting our day-to-day business needs and resources.131Views0likes3CommentsI'm getting a "Can’t save the changes" error when editing/trimming video files on www.dropbox.com.
For well over a year, I have been able to trim video clips straight from Dropbox, replace the original file and download them when needed. I have noticed however, that over the course of the last week, I have been unable to do this, and receive the following error: Can’t save the changes Something went wrong and we weren’t able to save the changes to this file. I have tried this on different computers, and on my personal and work Dropbox account, and continue to get the same error. If I choose the "create a copy" option, I am able to successfully trim the clip, however only if I do not change the file name, ensuring the existing file name with the word "(edited)" at the end is there. If I attempt to change the file name when saving a copy, I get the above error. Interestingly, I am able to change the name of an existing file (without trimming it) and it works. I'm wondering if anyone knows why this may be, if there is a way of fixing it, or if it's a known issue at all? I've read that converting a video to H.264 often solves the problem, but on this occasion, it hasn't. The work I do requires videos to be trimmed and turned over very quickly. The current workarounds (download, edit, re-upload/create a copy) do work for the time being, they're not a long-term solution. If anyone is able to shed some light on the situation, that would be much appreciated. Thank you!111Views1like3Comments
