Can I downgrade or cancel and get my existing files out?

Need Help!!!

Maxed out 1TB storage limit. DON'T want to pay for the next upgrade. I simply want to (declutter) delete unnecessary files, pics and music allowing me to use the space. Nothing I do seems to allow me to delete files. Been going back and forth with support for almost a year. Stopped talking to them 7/2024. I'm sure it's totally my fault. Been w/Dropbox since 2008. Really don't want to leave but I'm paying for nothing since no syncing has been happening for about a year.

At this point I'd be happy to get my files out, downgrade to the Free level and use Dropbox just for transferring large files from one platform to another.

Question: Can I downgrade or cancel and get my existing files out?

Sure, but you'll need to download your files through the Dropbox website, which will take time and if you select more than one file at a time, or a folder, it will be zipped prior to download. Another option is to use a third-party service to transfer your data to another storage provider.

Why not? What happens when you try? Even if you're over your storage limit you can still manage your files through the Dropbox website. They don't block access to your files.

Rich. Thank you sooo so much, first for your immediate reply, and for taking the time to explain. As soon as I read your response I went to the Dropbox website. Support just told me to go to your Dropbox. All this time I was trying to do it from the Dropbox on my PC. Thank you again.
